XM Hong Kong stocks: rating agency Moody's lowered the US sovereign rating last Friday, but China's industrial added value is better than expected. The total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 5.1% in April, and the added value of industries above designated size increased by 6.1% in April. Hong Kong stocks opened lower this morning, and once fell by nearly 300 points during the session, the decline shrank by more than half, closing at 23,230 in the half-day, down 114 points, and the decline further narrowed in the afternoon. The Chinese index fell 45 points or 0.5% in the half-day to 8,422 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index fell 54 points or 1% to 5,227 points.
